Back to class? More like kicking my ass
26/03/25, late afternoon
Well. At the time of the last entry I was fighting for my life against uni exams. And honestly I was really looking forward to going back to class,
until I.. well. went back to class. This semester I'm taking three courses: physics, geometry and linear algebra, and basic algorithms for coding.
The thing... I like those courses!! But boy is it tirening! I'm basically napping every free afternoon I have.
Thankfully
I feel like I'm managing to keep on par with my classes pretty well, and I'm not lagging behind compared to the rest of the class.
So the past few weeks have been really chaotic, and I haven't had much time to work on the site.
But during this time I've actually strated using Spacehey! It's a Myspace revival project, and I've been using it to do some
quick and low-effort daily blogging. The main reason I'm using the platform is that I can quickly make blog posts or interact with other users
from my phone. So I can use the site durig my commutes or between classes. I find it really convenient as a
"secon platform" of sorts, since I need to be on my pc to be able to update this site or browse Neocities.
Just to be extra clear: it's not going to replace my personal site, and most of the high-effort stuff I make on there will be mirrored
eventually on here. I intend to keep my personal site as my main online presence indefinetly.
And speaking of online platforms.. I finally ditched Instagram and TikTok entirely! Logged out of my accounts, uninstalled them,
currently in the process of removing the links to those accounts from the rest of my stuff, all that jazz. It might sound clichè but it
has honestly been truly freeing. I never really enjoyed TikTok, and Instagram simply had not felt the same since reels were first introduced.
When I was a kid, around seven years ago, I actually loved Instagram. Back then the platform was completely built around images, and they had to be
squared and posted one at a time. And although there were celebrities on the platform, the chances of going viral were so
slim that nobody cared much about it. It was a great place to post artwork and make friends with similar interests through the hashtags.
I've know a lot of people through my art account, some of which I'm still friend with today. But the platform is not what it was
back then, and honestly I had been unsatisfied with it for a while, but had kept using it out of nostalgia. However,
now that I got rid of it I'm sure I don't want to go back.
I've actually started writing a whole article about the modern web and the enshittification of social media. No clue when
(or if) I'll finish it.
